Eolas Fúinn

Ceapadh John Hannon ina Stiúrthóir Seirbhísí do Mhic Léinn i mí Aibreáin 2015. Is é an ról atá ag an Stiúrthóir ceannaireacht a thabhairt i dtaca le feidhmeanna seirbhísí do mhic léinn a chomhtháthú agus tacaíocht neamhacadúil chuimsitheach agus d’ardchaighdeán mar aon le seirbhísí folláine a chur ar fáil do mhic léinn. Oibríonn an Stiúrthóir leis an Leas-Uachtarán d’Eispéireas na Mac Léinn chun a chinntiú go bhfuil comhpháirtíochtaí oibre cuí i bhfeidhm le comhghleacaithe, mic léinn agus páirtithe leasmhara seachtracha, atá ag teacht le mianta straitéiseacha na hOllscoile i leith tacaíocht do mhic léinn agus folláine, agus eispéireas na mac léinn a bhaint amach go héifeachtach.

Seo a leanas na haonaid a thagann faoi scáth Sheirbhísí do Mhic Léinn: an tIonad Rochtana, Lóistín agus Leas, an tIonad Forbartha Gairmeacha, an tSéiplíneacht, Seirbhís Comhairleoireachta na Mac Léinn agus Oifig na gCumann. Spóirt, Aonad Sláinte na Mac Léinn agus Naíolann na hOllscoile.

Tá John ag obair san ardoideachas le breis agus fiche bliain, i róil mar theagascóir, léachtóir, comhairleoir gairme agus mar Cheann ar an Ionad Forbartha Gairmeacha. Is an Rúnaí Oinigh é do Chónaidhm Seirbhísí do Mhic Léinn in Éirinn.

Bhí John ina mhac léinn in Ollscoil na Gaillimhe (BA agus HDE), in COBÁC (DCG) agus in Ollscoil Warwick (MA CEIGHE).

Professor Michelle Millar is a member of the University Management Team with specific responsibility for Student Services, Sports & Physical Activity and ASPIRE a new flagship programme in NUI Galway whose mission is to drive transformational change and support the evolution of the educational experience for our students, staff and enterprise partners. The Dean of Students has particular responsibility for ensuring that the university structures, environment and support services underpin the educational and personal development of students. Professor Millar and her team play a lead role in the implementation of the NUI Galway Strategy with particular focus on the objectives and initiatives that support the success of students in their education and their personal development.

A graduate of the University of Limerick, Michelle has taught Public Policy and Public Administration in the School of Political Science and Sociology since 1998. She was awarded the NUI Galway President’s Award for Teaching Excellence in 2017. She has provided programme leadership at undergraduate and postgraduate level since 1998, developed new programmes and served as the Chair of the School Teaching and Learning Committee 2014-18. In January 2018, she was appointed Head of School Political Science & Sociology. Michelle is a Senior Research Fellow at the UNESCO Child and Family Research Centre and has acted as Principal Investigator on several funded research projects, the most recent an IRC Social Protection Research Innovation Award the outputs of which culminated in her receiving the NUI Galway President’s Award for Societal Impact in 2019.  Michelle is currently a Joint Principal Investigator for the evaluation of the ASPIRE programme at NUI Galway.
